Professional Intelligence Operations

Run open-source casework to a professional standard, from a client’s first request to a decision-ready brief that stands up to review.

Professional Intelligence Operations is for practitioners who can already search, verify and analyse, and now need to run real casework for clients, editors and boards. You will learn to turn loose requests into agreed requirements and collection plans, to manage cases with many sources and several analysts, to corroborate and document evidence at scale, and to write products that lead with the answer.

The course works within Indian law and professional ethics throughout, including the DPDP Act, 2023, the IT Act and the law of defamation, and teaches the operational security that protects you, your client and the people in your material. It ends with the Calibrex Casework Method, Plan → Collect → Verify → Analyse → Brief run with quality gates and handover, and an assessed intelligence report on a realistic supplier case.

You will be able to

  • Turn a client’s or editor’s request into a versioned terms of reference with decision-linked, neutral intelligence requirements
  • Build and run a collection plan with indicators, primary sources, owners, time-boxes and stopping rules
  • Organise a multi-analyst case with standard folders, naming, and evidence, entity, research and decision registers
  • Corroborate claims at scale with a claims matrix, lineage tracing and two-part source grading, and document evidence to a defensible standard
  • Write BLUF reports for editors, boards and policymakers that keep fact, assessment and recommendation apart
  • Apply Indian legal limits, professional ethics and research OPSEC to every line of enquiry
  • Run cases through the Calibrex Casework Method with quality gates, independent review and clean handover
